HBO director Matt Shakman told Mashablein the middle of the season that Ed Sheeran's character probably wasn't at the Loot Train Attack™, and therefore was probably still around singing somewhere, but Sheeran thinks his character met his end anyway.

"We were all quite young, those soldiers," Sheeran told MTV. "I doubt I'm going to survive for that long, to be honest, when there are dragons in the world."

That's a fair point, especially when you add ice zombie dragons to the pile. What's a young Lannister soldier with an angelic voice to do?

"No one wants to see me come back," Sheeran told the interviewer, on the off-chance that he survived the season. "I wanted to be a cameo in it, and I've done the cameo...I'm cool with it, though. I enjoyed it."
